A full page screenshot, or exactly the part you need.
Capture a complete page, a small detail, or everything inside a scrolling panel. Choose the mode that fits the task.
Full page
Capture the whole document, including the content below the fold.
Visible area
Save exactly what is on screen, without scrolling the page.
Select an area
Drag around the region you want to capture.
From this position
Start where you are and capture the rest of the page.
Scrolling area
Capture the content inside a scrollable panel.
Hide elements
Select unwanted elements before capture. Their space stays in the layout; the page is restored afterward.
Need a moment to prepare the page? Set a 3, 5 or 10 second capture delay, or use Alt + Shift + S for a full-page capture. Chrome lets you change the shortcut.
Annotate, highlight and redact screenshots.
Add six kinds of annotation objects. Keep them editable while you work, then export the image with your edits included.
Arrows
ADrag from one point to another to show exactly where someone should look.
- Choose any color with the color picker.
- Set line width to 3, 5, 8 or 12 px.
- Move the arrow or change its width and height.
Rectangle outlines
RDraw an outline around a button, a component or a whole section.
- Choose an outline color.
- Set line width to 3, 5, 8 or 12 px.
- Move the box or enter its width and height in pixels.
Text notes
TType a note, then click the image to place it. Multi-line notes are supported.
- Edit the wording after placing the note.
- Choose a text color and 18, 28, 40 or 60 px text.
- Move the note anywhere inside the capture. Up to 1,000 characters per note.
Numbered steps
NClick to place automatically numbered circular markers for a walkthrough.
- Choose the marker color.
- Use 18, 28, 40 or 60 px for the number size; the circle scales with it.
- Select, move or delete individual steps.
Highlights
MDraw a translucent rectangle over content you want to emphasize.
- Choose the highlight color.
- Move it or set its width and height in pixels.
- Transparency is fixed, so the content remains visible underneath.
Solid redaction masks
HCover emails, names or other private details with an opaque black rectangle.
- Move the mask or set its width and height.
- Exported and uploaded images contain flattened black pixels.
- The local original and mask stay editable until the capture is deleted or expires.
Edit annotations after you place them.
Change an annotation after you place it. You do not need to retake the screenshot to fix a label or move an arrow.
Select on the image or in the Objects list
Choose Select (V), then click an annotation on the canvas. You can also pick it from the Objects list, which includes text previews and step numbers.
Move and resize precisely
Drag a selected object to move it. Use the arrow keys for 1 px adjustments, or hold Shift for 10 px. For arrows, boxes, highlights and masks, enter Width and Height in the inspector and choose Apply changes.
Update or remove an annotation
Select an object to change its available color, line width or text settings. Choose Apply changes to commit the update. Delete selected object, Delete or Backspace removes the selected annotation.
Crop, undo and redo
Choose Crop (C) and drag around the part to keep. Undo restores the previous crop or edit; Redo brings it back. Press Escape to cancel an in-progress drawing.
Zoom in without changing the export
Use + and − to inspect the image from 5% to 300%, Fit width to fit the working area, or 100% to see the original scale. Zoom changes the editor view, not your exported pixels.
Work with large captures in parts
When a capture is split, use the image-part picker to switch between parts. Each part has its own edits. PNG, JPG, clipboard copy and cloud save use the selected part; PDF includes every part.

Open, drop or paste an image
Use Open image, drop a PNG, JPG or WebP file into the editor, or paste an image with Ctrl / Cmd + V. Imported images open as separate editable captures, rather than as objects placed over another screenshot.
Reopen recent work
Open your latest capture from the popup, or choose a capture in Settings. Up to five recent captures and saved drafts stay on this device for 24 hours.
Keep committed edits automatically
Edits save locally after you apply them. Wait for Saved on this device before closing. Saved objects and crops reopen with the capture; the undo history lasts only in the current editor tab.
Choose your defaults and clean up
Settings lets you choose a default PNG, JPG or PDF format, set a 3, 5 or 10 second capture delay, and change the full-page shortcut. Delete one local capture or clear all recent captures when you are finished.
Export screenshots to PNG, JPG or PDF.
Save the format your workflow needs, with your annotations included.
Keep the detail
Save a sharp image for documentation, feedback and design reviews.
Save an image file
Export your edited screenshot in a widely supported image format.
Keep the whole capture
Create a multi-page, image-based PDF in A4 or US Letter.
You can also copy the edited image to your clipboard. Large captures may split into parts; PNG and JPG export the selected part, while PDF includes all parts and their edits.
Your local captures stay local.
Capture, edit and export without signing in. There are no automatic screenshot uploads. Recent originals and saved edits stay on your device temporarily; download the files you want to keep.
Optionally connect your SnapshotFlow account to save an edited image to your dashboard. Uploads use a separate storage allowance, not rendering credits. Connect or disconnect in Settings, and manage the connection key from your dashboard.
The separate Render URL action offers desktop (1280 px) or mobile (390 px) width. It creates a new server-side capture of the saved URL without your browser login or local edits, and uses API rendering quota.
Chrome extension FAQ
Is the Chrome extension free?
Local capture, editing and export are free, with no account required and no watermark. Optional account features have separate storage limits; server-side URL rendering uses API quota.
Do my screenshots leave my device?
Local capture and editing run in your browser. Installing the extension or taking a screenshot does not upload your image. Connecting an account enables explicit cloud actions that you choose.
Can I capture a page where I am signed in?
The extension captures the page open in your browser, including its current signed-in view. Chrome settings, the Chrome Web Store and other protected browser pages cannot be captured.
Does redaction remove the original image?
Solid masks are flattened into exported images. The original and editable masks remain in your recent local captures until you delete them or they expire. Delete the local capture when you no longer need the original.
Can I continue editing later?
Up to five recent captures and their saved edits are kept locally for 24 hours. Reopen a capture to continue editing. This is temporary local history, so download files you want to keep.
What kind of PDF does it create?
Export an image-based, multi-page PDF in A4 or US Letter. It preserves your screenshot and edits; it does not create searchable text or preserve webpage links.
Will every long page capture perfectly?
Dynamic content, videos and virtualized lists can change while scrolling. Very large captures may split into parts, and browser or image-size limits can prevent a capture.
